Postcard photograph of the Thompson Elementary School (in the foreground) and the Midland High School (eventually the Midland Junior High School), located at the foot of McDonald Street. Built in1909, after the previous school building burned down, the high school was converted to a junior high in 1937. Written on the back: "This is the school where Elmer and Fred goes to. That high tower is where the bell is an [sic] we live right a crost [sic] the street frome [sic] it on the corner. Elmer is in the high school this year. I believe I sent you a view of the old one that burned. Did I. Wall [sic] this is the new one. Stands right where the old one did. The old one is the one whare [sic] Emer graduated. Had a nice rain last night. It will soon be winter again. Received your letter and will write as soon as I can. Yes that is the Pesy [?] , my mother's only brother. Good by [sic], With love." |
