Description |
View of the south side of Main Street looking west at the corner of Ashman and Main Street. The building on the southeast corner of Ashman and Main Street is the former location of The Oscar House, the Oscar House was demolished in 1899 after it was damaged by a fire in 1895. H.L. Fairchild and Burton H. Carter purchased the building and constructed two new buildings. The building on the corner built by Burton Carter. The taller building built by H.L. Fairchild. Additional buildings in the photograph include Barbour Block, 1899, Rockwell Block, 1895 and a Millinery. Across the street on the southwest corner is the office of Chalres Brown Lumber, with the McCallum House, built in 1894 it was later the home of W.D. Gordon. |
