Portrait of Frank S. Burton, Judge of Probate c.1872-1879 Image: A black and white studio portrait of a man in a suit and tie with a buttoned up jacket. He has combed dark hair and a mustache. Among the first group of lawyers that practiced in the city of Midland, and once owned the Midland Independent (1871) and later established the Midland Sun (1881). Married to Vina Belknap on June 20, 1873 in Detroit. In 1882, he was nominated under the Fusion ticket state senator, but defeated in the election. 1884, chosen as supervisor of Larkin Twp. He switched from the Republicans to the Greenback Party in 1882. He died in 1897 in Ann Arbor. |
